Hello Seniors!
During Advisory on Wednesday, you will watch a detailed presentation from the Counseling Department.  The purpose of the presentation is to share with you information that will assist you with your plans for after high school.  Due to the length of our presentation, the first portion (Introduction) is being shared with you prior to Wednesday’s presentation.  Please watch the introduction prior to your Advisory on Wednesday.  Let your school counselor or Ms. Trachtenberg know if you have any questions.

Important October Dates

  • October 2, 2021 – SAT test here at DHS (Registration deadline has passed. You will need to print out your ticket for admission to the test. Please bring state ID and a calculator.)
  • October 4, 2021 –  Krispy Kreme Donut Sale Begins (Boxes and or certificate $10 each)
  • October 5th & 6th – Cap & Gown / Class Ring Orders (Order through Heff Jones)
  • October 6, 2021 – Watch the presentation from guidance entitled ” Senior Discussion”
  • October 8, 2021 – Registration deadline for the November 6th test date
  • October 11th & 12th – Senior pictures (Check email sent from Mrs. McFalls for your appointment time.)
  • October 12, 2021 – FASFA Night @ 6:30 pm (Look for an email Oct. 1st with more details)
  • October 13, 2021 – College Visit from Mary Baldwin University & James Madison (During advisory – You must submit a Google Form expressing interest to attend.)
  • October 15, 2021 – ALL Krispy Kreme Donut Orders Due (All money must be turned in by this date.)
  • October 16, 2021 – Homecoming Dance (Tickets are $15 / Semi-Formal attire / Dance Time: 7pm – 10:30pm)
  • October 18, 2021 – Krispy Kreme Donuts Delivered
  • October 18th -22nd – Spirit Week (Google Form being emailed Friday. Make sure you vote on your favorite theme.)
  • October 22, 2021 – Homecoming Game
  • October 23, 2021 – ACT test administered
  • October 27, 2021 – College visit from John Tyler Community College & Virginia Tech (During advisory – You must submit a Google Form expressing interest to attend.)

 

August 17, 2021

All 12th graders will be required to have a meningococcal conjugate vaccine prior to entry for the 2021-2022 school year according to the state guidelines of Virginia.
  • The Dinwiddie Health Department will be holding another back-to-school immunization clinic for any of the required vaccines on August 16.
  • Parents must bring ID, the child’s shot records, and insurance cards if applicable. For more information, contact the Dinwiddie Health Department at 804-469-3771.
  • Once you have received your meningococcal conjugate vaccination, you must bring your documentation to our counseling office before the start of school on September 7, 2021.
  • Clinics are open but appointments are required at these weekly clinics.
