A Message from Our Principal

DHS Students, Parents, and Community,

I am more than humbled and honored to begin the 24-25 school year with you and my sixth year as the principal of Dinwiddie High School. We have overcome many challenges and have met many goals through continued strength, determination, and collaboration. Our spirit as a Dinwiddie High School family of Generals is unwavering.

We want our school environment to continue to be a place where students feel safe, learn, grow, explore, and begin to establish their futures. I will never stop believing that every child has talent, special qualities, and can learn if given time, proper resources, and support.

High expectations, accountability, consistency, and love for all students will continue to be key components as we develop and move forward in achieving goals and increasing student success and outcomes. This means, we want our students present in school each day to take part in all we have to offer them.

Life beyond high school matters, and we will continue to strive each day to graduate students who are respectful, knowledgeable, and productive citizens who will impact the local, state, and national communities in a miraculous way. Leading and teaching by example is paramount. We will model what we expect.

My commitment and greatest mission will remain constant to serving students, staff, and the community with integrity and dignity.
While we continue to be a school where we are One Family building excellence, we will also do our best to lead the way in new methods of teaching and learning because we want to contribute to making the world a better place, and the education of our students depends on it! Let’s be HEROES for our students by leading with HEART and HOPE!

Yours in Navy Nation Pride,
Mr. Robbie M. Garnes
