Sept. 23: Updated Reopening Timeline & Additional Information

The Dinwiddie School Board approved last night, September 22, 2020, the proposed school reopening plan.  Details are outlined below.

DINWIDDIE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS PHASED REOPENING PLAN UPDATE 9.23.20 * UPDATED PHASED REOPENING TIMELINE* As long as Health Data continues to support reopening is safe. Monday, September 21: Special Education Cohorts K-12Level 2 students with an IEP greater than 50% of the school day in a self-contained setting - 4 days per week excluding Wednesdays. Monday, September 28: Grades PK-5 -- Students will attend in-person 4 days per week excluding Wednesdays Monday, October 5: Grades 6 and 9 -- Students will attend in-person 2 days per week on either Mondays/Thursdays or Tuesdays/Fridays Monday, October 12: Grades 7 and 10 -- Students will attend in-person 2 days per week on either Mondays/Thursdays or Tuesdays/Fridays Monday, October 19: Grades 8, 11, and 12 -- Students will attend in-person 2 days per week on either Mondays/Thursdays or Tuesdays/Fridays In-person instruction is for students who selected the blended learning option on the July 10 survey. For families who wish to change their choice, please contact your child's school who will determine space availability. In instances where space is not immediately available, students will be placed on a waiting list and served on a first come, first served basis. Virtual instruction will remain an option for students at this time. Please visit www.dinwiddie.k12.va.us for up to date information. SCHOOL HOURS: Elementary - 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m Middle - 7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. High - 7:40 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. Subject to change as more students return to school and/or transportation routes deem necessary.

MEAL DISTRIBUTION for Virtual Students PK-12 Wednesdays 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. All Elementary Schools* will include meals for entire week MEAL DISTRIBUTION for In-Person Middle School Students Meals will be available at dismissal for middle school students to take home for virtual days. MEAL DISTRIBUTION for In-Person Elementary Students Wednesday Meals will be sent home with elementary students on Tuesday afternoon at dismissal. MEAL DISTRIBUTION for In-Person High School Students Meals will be available at dismissal for high school students to take home for virtual days. AT THIS TIME, MEALS ARE FREE TO ALL STUDENTS PK-12!
