Congratulations to Ms. Martha Susan (Blair) Wilson as the 2022 DHS Teacher of the Year!
Martha Susan Blair Wilson, Medical Technologist (American Society of Clinical Pathology) is a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie county. She graduated from Dinwiddie County High School in 1998 and earned an Associate of Science degree from Richard Bland in 2000. In 2003, Mrs. Wilson graduated from the Medical College of Virginia campus at Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences. She spent seven years working in the clinical chemistry and blood banking departments at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, Virginia. In 2010, Mrs. Wilson graduated from Virginia State University with a major in chemistry and a minor in education.
Mrs. Wilson has been employed with Dinwiddie County Public Schools since 2010. She taught Physical Science at the former Junior High School. During her tenure at the High School, Mrs. Wilson has taught various science classes, including chemistry. She is currently responsible for the medical-based classes offered at the school, including Anatomy and Physiology, Introduction to Health and Medical Sciences, and Medical Laboratory Technology I and II.
Mrs. Wilson currently lives in the county with her husband, Wesley, and son, Reams.
